When the Dream Stops Feeling Like One
WS 2.0 Day 13: Ask Your Audience a Thought-Provoking Question
Dear Stackers,
We’ve all had dreams. Bright, burning ambitions that pushed us to begin, keep going, and never give up.
Sometimes, it wasn’t logic that kept us moving. It was fantasy.
The imagined version of success. The soft spotlight. The moment it would all finally make sense.
That kept us going. That made the sacrifices feel worth it.
But what happens when the dream doesn’t deliver?
When it starts asking more than it gives?
When you’re stuck in a thing you once prayed for, and now you’re quietly asking if it was ever really yours?
No one talks about that.
The shift from excitement to exhaustion. From drive to dread.
But it happens. And sometimes the hardest part isn’t letting go of the dream.
It’s admitting that it no longer fits you.
So today I ask:
What used to be a dream, but now feels like a burden—and why?
You don’t have to answer me. But be honest with yourself.
A little curious,
J🌹.
